Students, Are you Traveling ? |
Tips For Traveling Student
Today, money, distance and family background is no more a issue for Indian students pursuing higher education. Over the years, they have crossed borders to live their dreams. Not many years after 10+2 the convention was to pursue the most popular degree in the college or university in your neighborhoods. It is no more the case. Even distance barriers are not holding our students back. You don't have the money -no worry- your bank will lend it to you. This has made life simpler for students as well as their parents. Going abroad and staying away from home is becoming a trend that guarantees you a good paying job in India.
The number of students traveling away from home has increased significantly. One has to be cautious while traveling. here are a few things that can help make your journey a memorable one.
- make a list of all the things that you are carrying so that when you are packing again (after you have unpacked) you can refer to the list to make sure you aren't forgetting anything back.
- book your tickets well in advance so that you have no seating problems; and make sure you are carrying them while you set from home.
- keep a map of the place you are visiting handy so that you will never get lost.
- in case you are traveling by taxi or something message it's number to someone at home so that they know about your whereabouts even if anything untoward takes place.
- when you are in a new place people tend to fool you especially the taxi drivers (about the fare). remember that there is always a inquiry booth or traffic police booth near a station. you can always take their help.
- if you are traveling alone, it is important that you learn to defend yourself. at least learn the basic of self defense arts like martial arts or karate. or simply carry a swiss knife (which will not be allowed if you are passing a security check) or just a pepper mint spray.
- in case you are traveling by train make sure that you lock your baggage with a chain.
- carry homemade food as much as possible so tat you don't have to rely on the outside food stalls. who knows if your stars are turned against you, you might never find a stall in the neighborhood.
- carry some source of entertainment (like an ipod or a book) with you so that waiting time in case of connecting flights or flight delays are not so unbearable.
- one tends to make friends with strangers on journeys but remember that how much ever you find someone noble, DON"T reveal too many personal details.
- whenever you have a halt report your whereabouts to your family so that they are not worried about your safety.
- dial 100 and keep so that in case of emergency you can quickly just redial it.
- note the important emergency numbers like of police, ambulance and fire.
Set early from home so that you avoid missing your train or flight. You know, Hurry makes a man worry!
