WHAT IS TO BE PROVIDED AS PROOF OF REFERENCE ?
In application form , i was asked to give two references. I gave the
name and address of two professors who are teaching me. But now am i
qualified for the interview, i have been asked to bring the PROOFS OF
THE REFERENCES. What is to be presented as this proof? Does a copy of
their ID cards r necessary or a detailed letter from each of them
claim in to know me n my details is needed ? Or is it something else ?

You have not mentioned for which interview you have applied for,still i think that you need a recommendation letter form both of your professors on their official letter pad and if you have applied in some foreign university course then it may decide your admission in that university.
For more information you can contact the institute authority or see the admission brochure carefully .One think is sure that ID of those professors will not work or may be your professor have already given such type of recommendation in pas for some other students so contact them immediately
