First of all back in first year will not affect much if you improve your performance continuously like you are having 60% then you should have a increasing trends of your percentage 65%,70%,75%.......in your coming years that will show that you are serious about your studies and you have learn something form your past mistake.By this you can also explain the reason of your Back at any point of time.

The discussion about MBA Vs M.Tech is not so easy but here i can explain you in simple words which will help you to choose among one of them

M. Tech deals with specialisation in a chosen field of
engineering......if you are technically inclined and interested to have
a career working in the technical side, go for M.Tech specialisation.

MBA
deals with the business side of profession, it deals with different
aspect of business strategy viz., making management decisions,
understanding project is viability, finance and cost involved,
marketing strategy, market conditions etc.,

Both are highly successful career choices, depending on the skills that
you posses - if you are comfortable with technical aspect, go for
M.Tech, and if you are good at management skills, go for MBA

M.Tech VS MBA

At some places M.tech is preferable while at some MBA, it totally
depend on the interest and talent of the student i.e. it depend on what
they want to do?

If a student is from science background and he/she want to continue
his/her studies in Research line or if he/she is looking for some
profession like Teaching then M.Tech  is best for him/her, while if
another student want to go in management sectors then MBA is best
suited for him/her.

Then the main question arises that if both are equally important in
their respective fields then why there’s a conflict? It is just because
of the fact that MBA has attained a height of popularity in the last
few years and introduction of lots of MNC’s have open lots of
opportunity for a MBA student, whereas people still assume M.Tech as a
traditional course, unaware of the fact that both of them are equally
important in their respective fields.

So the next thing of doing M-TECH is only by taking GATE exams its from
iit and llsc Bangalore the best institution which will guide u in the
better path and also this institutions will secure you're future for
sure so if you thing of M-TECH thing of GATE.
Coming for the MBA
examination the best thing doing MBA is only through cracking the CAT
exam which is very difficult to CRACK it the most difficult exam to get
into IIMS ones if u got through then you will be the future of
management.

Finally coming to the conclusion whether i must do MBA or M-TECH

1. MBA is very must costly if u are financially good and you have very
must interested in management then you can go head with the MBA
2. GATE is fully technical if u are very must interested in technical issue you can go head with the M-TECH
