How does state rank matter in AIEEE counseling? |

The meaning of state rank arise only when there is a state reservation in college like in NIT's and state counseling for example.....if your state has any NIT then 50% of it's seat will be reserved for it's state student only and rest are for other states by state rank you can only have the idea of getting admission in your state or in other state where there is reservation for your state it means you have to compete only through your state but ultimately in counseling AIR is used when there is no reservation of state then it has no meaning
For Example , say your AIR is 600 but state rank is 2 and you belong to
Rajasthan (large state). This means, you can get admission practically
into any stream in any of the engineering colleges participating in
AIEEE by virtue of your state rank!
