Is it necessary to join classes for first year engineering ? Which classes are best for IT? Which books one should refer?

As such there is no hard and fast rule that you have to join classes for your firs year if you can cover all the syllabus yourself by self study or with the help of your friends then there is no need but if you don't then go for it.For engineering there are standard books for reference, better consult with your seniors and teachers
