Physical Requirements for the Disabled Candidates
For being considered against the vacancies reserved for them, the
physically disabled persons should have disability of Forty per cent
(40%) or more. However, such candidates shall be required to meet one
or more of the following physical requirements/abilities which may be
necessary for performing the duties in the concerned Services/Posts :
- Work performed by manipulating (with Fingers)
- Work performed by pulling & pushing
- Work performed by lifting
- Work performed by kneeling and crouching
- Work performed by bending
- Work performed by sitting (on bench or chair)
- Work performed by standing
- Work performed by walking
- Work performed by seeing
- Work performed by hearing/speaking
- Work performed by reading and writing.
The functional classification in their case shall be, one or more of
the following, consistent with the requirements of the concerned
Services/Posts :–
- both legs affected but not arms
- both arms affected
- impaired reach
- weakness of grip.
- both legs and both arms affected.
- one leg affected (R or L)
- impaired reach
- weakness of grip
- ataxic
- one arm affected (R or L) - do -
- stiff back and hips (cannot sit or stoop).
- muscular weakness and limited physical endurance.
- the blind
- partially blind
- the deaf
- partially deaf.
Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for
admission to Engineering Services Examination, 2010 as per guidelines
given in Appendix-II of the rules for the Engineering Services
Examination, 2010 published in the Gazette of India Extraordinary dated
30th January, 2010.
